The Human Performance Lab was due to launch in March 26, the speakers were briefed, the framework was built, the vision was clear... and then the world changed. So instead of launching, we listened...
Sometimes the most powerful thing someone can offer is simply their presence.
Introducing, Human First, a series that brings together seven of the world's finest human performance experts two per day, one hour each giving their time freely, because they believe in the power of showing up for one another.
No agenda. No ask. No moment you need to be ready for.
Every session is its own topic, they're ready. So register when you are.
We are here because we see where you are.

HR is hard at the best of times
Right now with people homeschooling their children, watching the news between meetings, carrying anxiety they haven't named yet it is harder than most of us have ever known. And yet. This is also the greatest opportunity the HR profession has ever had. Not to fix the external environment. We can't do that. But to show up so well for the humans in our care that they never forget how we made them feel in some of the hardest moments they've ever worked through. HR has had an image problem for a long time. This moment doesn't have to define that problem. It can redefine it. Having spent over 20 years in HR, doing it my way. That way has led me to delivering some of the worst news possible to employees. And every single one of them has remained in contact with me. That's HR, done different. It's time to be Human First. I'm not a speaker. I'm an HR professional who has something to say

How You Show Up Right Now Matters More Than You Think
In uncertain times, people don't just listen to leaders they watch them. The way you carry yourself, communicate and show up in the world sends signals that those around you are reading constantly, often without realising it. In this session, Kelly Lundberg personal brand strategist, author and former celebrity stylist explores why your presence matters more than ever right now, and how small, intentional shifts in how you show up can create genuine feelings of calm, trust and safety for the people around you.

Leave nobody out: What true inclusion and community looks like right now
In a world that moves fast and often leaves people behind, Nick Watson and his daughter Tia are proof that community isn't something you talk about, it's something you do. Together they have completed hundreds of races and achieved four Guinness World Records, racing alongside Nick's son Rio, who has disabilities. In this session, they share what they've learned from years of showing up for each other and for others and what it really takes to build a community where nobody is left on the outside.

How to slow a busy mind and build a calmer, clearer way of thinking
If your mind feels busy lately; replaying conversations, running through worst-case scenarios, or jumping from one thought to the next, you’re not alone (and there is nothing wrong with you!). In this session, we’ll look at why it’s actually so hard for the brain to simply “switch off,” how to tell the difference between thinking a lot and getting stuck in a thinking spiral, and a few practical ways to slow things down when your mind won’t stop. No complicated techniques or trying to control every thought! Just a clearer understanding of what’s happening in your mind and what helps.

BEYōND the Distraction: How to Find Clarity When the World Won't Slow Down
When everything around you is loud, uncertain and constantly shifting, it is easy to lose sight of what you already know about yourself. In this session, David Singleton, founder of Oraculi, TEDx speaker and creator of the BEYōND Boundaries high performance frameworks, explores why distraction pulls high performers off course, and how to cut through the noise and reclaim the focus and control that got you to where you are. This is not about pushing harder. It is about taking back ownership of your performance.

Courage Isn't the Absence of Fear
When the world feels unstable, fear is a completely natural response. It doesn't mean you're weak. It doesn't mean something is wrong with you. It means you're human. In this session, Dr Oudi Abouchacra draws on the principles of his book Fear Forward to help us understand what fear is actually doing when it shows up, why it can feel so overwhelming right now, and how gently, practically we can begin to move forward even when we don't yet feel ready.

A Few Minutes, A Clearer Mind, The Power of Writing Your Way Through
When the world feels heavy, sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is sit down, pick up a pen, and write. In this session, Benjamin Owen introduces a simple, practical approach to journaling that takes just 3-5 minutes a day not as a productivity tool, but as a way to process what you're carrying, reconnect with who you are, and find a little more clarity in uncertain times. No experience needed. No perfect words required. Just you, a page, and some carefully chosen questions that can shift everything.
